Hello World!
Inspired by this past weekend's delightful meeting with Jim and Gary (meeting Gary for the first time was delightful in itself...), I'm putting up a website in the hopes that it will give us another channel for fellowship and community. The trigger was a 'download' I got this morning in prayer about the nature of transparency and vulnerability, which will be the content of another blog post. Thinking about what it would be like for me to share that with you guys over an email was the specific prompt that got me thinking about building a site. Yes, that's right. I blame God.
I won't be able to drop everything and pound out this whole site in one project, but will definitely continue to fill it out as time permits. And if it's working right, I won't be the only one adding content! ;-)
In fact, Jim, it may be time for us to expand our definition of the word "book". We get that word from the German word for "beech tree", because that's what the ancient Germans used to scratch their runes on—a board of beech wood. If the word can make the jump from runes on a board to printed words on pages that are bound in a cover, then why can't it make the jump from words on a page to words on a screen? Gotta keep up with the technology....
While we're at it, why should a book have only one author?...
